Hey folks, have a 05 TRD-OR. Was replacing diff fluid today. When I was draining the rear diff I found this broken spring on the drain plug’s magnet. Any idea what it’s for and how big a deal it is?

My best guess is that it has something to do with the e-locker?

The axle and pinion seals all have a circular spring in them to hold lip pressure.
Any leakage from them? If your e-locker works and no visible leaks I would ignore it otherwise you would have to pull the axles out and the 3rd member on your search.

Thanks for this info! I assume leakage would mean I’m leaking diff fluid? If so, then no visible leakage, and no other shards found when draining rear diff oil. I’ll test the e-locker when I get home from work this evening and report back.
