Favorite 108 moment this year: watching the burning man exodus parade down the 395 at the 108 junction. Solid never ending line of vehicles ranging from stuff straight out of a Dr. Seuss book to million dollar overlanders and motor homes. They all had one thing in common though - they all had the windows and vents tarped and or hefty bagged sealed. It was a seen reminiscent of a Mad Max movie.

Don’t forget the U-Haul trucks that totally weren’t driven off road and will absolutely be cleaned before the next customer rents them.

There's some uncertainty with regard to weather this week. I know 120 was closed around 6pm last night but would be reevaluated once the risk of snowfall had past. I did hear today that the remainder of the week is predicted to be "unsettled". Here is the Bay Area.

I may end up without my 4th Gen 4Runner after Sand Mountain collision. If I give it back to insurance, I will have a set of skids to trade for cheap.

@Fernando & @techfinsoup can fight for the add-ons that insurance isn't giving me credit for. I have a rusty front Coastal Offroad bumper (for 1" body lift) and skid plates (for 1" diff drop), a rear locker third member with 4.56 gears, matching gears in the front diff, Fox 2.0 rear shocks, Tundra rear coil springs, FJ80 front coil-overs, and a lot more. Its a great truck that just needs a new radiator, headlights, power steering cooler, water pump (the shaft that holds the fan is sheared), and hard transmission line. To be pretty, it will need a grille, hood, and a lot of metal forming of the front cowl. Insurance is charging less than $3,000 for it, so you can have the whole thing cheap.

I only saw lights; my passenger saw it in daylight. It was a white Tacoma built enough that it was no longer street-legal and didn't have plates or insurance. The driver was drunk and turned into me. Sand Mountain Fuckery at its finest.

Yeah, the other guy had a passenger and I had two. Out of the five of us, no one was hurt. I am very thankful for that.
I was trying to stop, but that's not easy downhill on a dune. I thing I was going about 20 mph.
