    2015 sport.

About 10 years ago I bought the Lola kit from all-pro with 2.0 fox shocks and the HD rear leaf set. Was always a rough ride much much more bumpy than stock. Figured it was part of the deal when lifting.

6 months ago I upgraded to fox 2.5 with resi all around from accutune with the more road friendly tune. Its definitely a noticeable improvement but still quite choppy, enough for it to annoy me daily on bumpy roads and california freeways, even with the dcs all the way open.

Is this going to be something I'll just have to deal with? I figured the custom tune and fresh 2.5s would be like floating on clouds or at least close to stock. Is the rear HD leaf set really making my ride that much more choppy probably, but to this extent?

Anyone have a preferred dcs setting thats worked well with their truck?

Is there anything that comes to mind that I should check?

    TIA boys and girls

Easy test would be to put 4-500lbs of stuff in the bed and see what happens. I’ve always said that a leaf pack has as much to do with ride quality as the shocks do… especially if it’s spec’d wrong.

Yep. Cheap test is to weight over axle and see what happens.

    Great call. Thinking sand bags?

Tools, sand bags, whatever you’ve got that’s heavy and won’t roll around. Ideally you won’t have to buy anything for the test. I don’t recommend people

    So:

Outcome A: the added weight dramtically improved ride quality. Whats the current state of affairs regarding rear leafs? Good recommendations? Ill poke around this topic myself tonight.

Outcome B: still choppy. What's next?

    Talk to Accutune.
They will take into account your vehicle particulars- primarily the weight at each corner.
Let them know what driving style the suspension should be optimized for.
That information is what allows the valving to be "customized".

Otherwise it will just be "off the shelf" tuning, which is likely a generic middle-of-the-road setup for a generic middle-of-the-road tacoma, and not particularly "custom tuned" to your truck and needs at all.

edit to add: the HD leafs sound over sprung. Shocks can't do anything about a stiff ride coming from too much spring. Unless you have a 'permanent' load in the back, you probably just need SD leaf springs.

edit #2 to add: I highly recommend Archive Garage Hammer Hangers to replace the stock shackle hangers. The improved tracking and stability was profound.
