That works too! But given he said he didn't have a wheeler, was just a thought. Getting it out of the woods is problem 1. Getting it into the truck is problem 2, but thankfully there are plenty of ways to do that by yourself. A sled just makes it that much easier.

Since we're on the topic of Jet Sleds, if you guys haven't already, I highly encourage you to take one of those stormy weekend days you don't go hunt and make some modifications to your jet sleds:
-better pull rope; use some leftover climbing rope/safety harness rope if you have it. Its softer on the hands (add large washers to inside knot to distribute load better)
-even better pull rope; run your rope through a piece of rubber tubing or PVC for a sturdier grab handle
-bungee cords; drill some small holes throughout the sides/tops of the sled; run a single piece of paracord around the entire perimeter (make it tight). Now you've got loops everywhere for tie downs/bungees
-eye bolts; same concept, some people just install some eye bolts for tie down points
-grab handle; drill holes and add a smaller length of rope on the opposite side of the sled; never hurts to have something to grab onto from the other side.

Extra tip: clip a carabiner somewhere for if you need it. I usually just stand inside the pull rope and wear it around my waist to pull when on flat ground, but going uphill, it feels alot better to just use 1-2 carabiners and clip the pull rope onto my safety harness or saddle, so I can free my hands up to "crawl" uphill with the weight of my body if I need to.

I was putting together a ground blind closer to my lower camera this morning.
The very last log I moved had a full boat yellowjacket nest under it.
We've had several frosts already, but not a hard freeze.
Yep, they got me good. Several stings, four in the side of the neck. Burns like a hot skillet.
I haven't moved that fast since the Disco days. And they followed me all the way to the house.
    Lil Bastids.

Needless to say, ground blind operations came to a sudden halt. :bananadead:

Not sure if I posted this before so apologies in advance if I did. A good friend of mine is an avid deer hunter and taxidermist. Every year he sends me Christmas cookies. Here's what I usually get. LOL

Aside from little debbies and deer snack sticks (jalapeno and hot pepper cheese), I think you may have just found the next best snack food for up in the tree!
