4th gen Tacoma headunit style headunit for 3rd gen

I love the 4th gen tacoma 14" headunit and i came across some that is very similar on facebook. I am just wondering if anyone has bought one or knows of a similar better option. I have one headed my way. Once I have it all installed, I'll have a video up on my YouTube channel, Tacoma Network. My only reservations on the looks is that it doesn't really match color wise with the interior. I asked about it coming in Matte Black or dark grey like all Tacoma interiors and they said that it's only available in that white/silver.

 

It should fit in any 3rd gen - Cartrimhome just posted a video (although not a very good one, it has no audio and no instructions) but you can see it put in a 3rd gen with the CD slot, so 2016-2019.

Which options did you choose?

 

I just got the base model 4, 64G with Black vents. I don't think you'll need more if you're running CarPlay mostly

 

How are you liking it so far? Steering wheel controls all work?

 

I love this thing! It's been in the truck for 10 days now and it's solid, no issues. Boots up with CarPlay in 10-15 seconds before I even leave the driveway. All steering wheel controls work just like the stock unit.

how is the audio quality of the head unit?

 

I have the Kicker Upgraded 6x9 and 6.25's in the doors and the Subaru/Kicker tweeters in the dash. I found that the Cartrimhome C12 sounded as good, if not better than the stock non-JBL headunit. I don't feel it's lacking at all in the sound category.

Does anyone know if the wiring harness for the 3rd gen tacoma is the same as the 4th gen tacoma. I am trying to upgrade my 4th gen tacoma radio but I can not find much info or kits for it.
