I have a 2008 Regular cab, driven it for two years now and love it. I have a small list of modifications I want to make to it and looking for some parts advice. The truck has 103k miles on it, so since theres a very good shot the thing lasts another 15-20 years figured I might as well make it as nice as I can. OEM+ is my goal.

Seats: I'd like to swap out the bench seat for two regular bucket seats. Are there any seats I can just bolt straight in without drilling or rewiring anything? For the center console, is there anything that would be a good fit?

Locked diff: Obviously not for serious off roading... but I do live in Washington by the cascades where there are countless forest roads. What kind of locking differential can I put in here? Any aftermarket recommendations or am I going dumpster diving in the junkyard for a 2nd gen Tacoma differential? Preferably something I can manually activate with a button on the dash rather than one with a mind of it's own, having it fully open is just fine most of the time.

I'm also going to raise the ride heights a little bit, with the suggested kits in the sticky thread + get some bigger tires to help my occasional summer adventure.

Cupholders: The cupholders in these are absolutely massive! Any suggestions for something I can throw in there to make them actually hold on to a regular sized drink I'll have?

Are there any other solid oem+ style modifications you've made that increased quality of life driving these things around?

Thank you in advance for every response and look forward to hearing from you guys! Happy to have found a forum for our funny little trucks, most info out there concerns standard tacomas.

Easiest seats are swapping stock buckets. Just make sure of the airbag connections. I put 07 seats in my 05 so no air bags to deal with but still had to redo the seat pressure sensor wiring harness.

Locking diff is a bit of a pain as the 5-lug uses a different setup than the 6-lug and never came with a locking diff. Probably best looking into aftermarket options.

No idea on lifts as I'm lowered

Cupholders, there is a guy on here somewhere that makes a 3D printed insert for the cupholder that works great.

Other suggestions; OffRoam phone mount, quality seat covers once you swap in buckets, I prefer Clazzio, if you are taller a riser for the rear view mirror and swapping in a smaller steering wheel from a Scion tC/iQ or other Toyota vehicle.

Idk if this counts as OEM+ but I highly recommend getting a CarPlay/android auto head unit! It makes it feel like a modern truck.
