I was advised that a chain conversion can on some occasions put too much strain on a V-Twin, similar to putting a supercharger on a first gen Tacoma.

What’s your experience with chain conversions been?

Save for wear, what is the benefit? I don't know much but curious.

When I talk to harley guys they say its smoother, the only pain is measuring it out and making sure you have the right one.

Some people claim the greater reciprocating weight can cause problems, I don’t know.

Popular with stunt riders, it sends more torque to the rear wheel

    1. Why?

I can’t see why an engine or transmission driving a belt is capable of handling the power applied and rotating but not if a chain is used.

The main argument is the chain drive itself has more rotating mass and that causes inertia.
