I know alot of people just don’t like the looks and want more clearance but they say it is the best thing on the truck for aerodynamics. Personally i think it helps keep the underside cleaner than help with aerodynamics.
Anyone notice more or less drag or anything else with them on or off.
Haven’t seen any real studies on it but they must put it on for a reason

Back before I upgraded, when I had my 2016 Sport I ripped it off and immediately lost 1.5 mpg average. Didnt notice any drag, just the mpg difference. You being in Florida, I would recommended keeping it on if you don't mind how hideous it looks but if you dont mind the mpg hit, gladly take it off.

Yeah there are like 1,000,000 threads on this already.

I took mine off the night I bought the truck. No difference in MPGs at all. I still average 19-20mpg per tank and I’m on 33’s.

I had to remove and discard my air dam, in order to install my CURT Mfg. front receiver.

Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
Back when I removed the air dam and my truck was completely stock and I paid close attention to mpg and the difference was very small.. maybe .25 mpg. so tiny.

Although a tiny amount it does help Toyota meet their fleet EPA requirements.

So to summarize. It looks silly and has a negative effect on ground clearance but helps the bean counters meet regulatory numbers.

Had mine on for 3.5 years. Took it off a couple of months ago to install a new skid plate. I havent noticed a difference in MPG, no additional noise, or anything. Personally, I wish I took it off sooner.

The Off Road doesn't come with one, but the Sport does, and both get the same est. mileage. (As per Toyota)
