New to the forum here. A few years ago when I purchased a new phone and went to 5G I could no longer place or receive phone calls through the radio system. However, when I do get a call(using the phone by hand) the music will pause and then resume when I end the call. I can pair my spotify with it no problem. I have a stock 2012 Tacoma. Bought it new. Do I need to upgrade the radio? I have tried pairing the phone many times according to the owners manual. Also it worked fine before I went to 5G. Thanks.20241031_131258.jpg

    This is my opinion:

Stock stereo is a piece of crap.
    Go to here: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-vt937wIaQBr/car/carselector.aspx
Get a good stereo system and install it. You will not be sorry.
Crutchfield will guide you to get everything you need for the installation which is very easy. They will also provide you with technical assistance during and after the installation.

I just hit up Crutchfield a few months ago to replace that POS stock radio with the volume knob that was faulty from factory. Got a Boss BE7ACP 85Wx4CH touchscreen with Crutchfields modified harness that straight connects up to existing connectors all for under $200. Installed in 2 hours. Now those crappy stock speakers are giving me the stink-eye...those plus sound deadening doors is next up...
