We were at a dusty dog park this morning. Tessa is now a tricolor doodle that needs a bath.

 

That's how you know it was a good day at the dog park! Well.... at least in your pups opinion.

 

We have two senior cats at home. We keep Tessa off most of the furniture to give the (sometimes intolerant) cats some safe space. We're staying with friends who do not have cats and Bo has couch and bed privileges, as you can see.


Guess who has now learned that beds are comfortable. She's having a pretty good dream right now. Paws are moving, occasional muffled bark. I hate to wake her and put her to bed, but this bed isn't big enough for both us. And her crate is much too small for me.


She's having a good road trip.

 

Just got home. One wants to cuddle, one wants to play, the other is wandering around the house with her stuffed dinosaur trying to hide it from that big black dog who is alway taking it away from her. Mission accomplished.

I was there a couple of months ago. I bought some magnets for the fridge.

 

This was our second stop. First was food and gas and photo ops. This was gas, dog walk and a bag of beaver nuts. There's another further west on 40 out by Crossville TN.

 

I put this deck box there to discourage Ruger from jumping over the railing to chase the occasional squirrel, cat, or groundhog that runs through the yard. I hate when he outsmarts me.

 

After an afternoon of hiking to some waterfalls and swimming near the lighthouse in Tobermory, Ontario. Nala is a German Shepherd / Husky mix with some Lab and Malinois as well. She’ll act like any or all of those breeds depending on her mood/activity we’re doing. Protects the house and follows us around like a GSD, loves a good run in the snow and is stubborn like a Husky when she doesn’t want to do something, swims like a lab, and will stop at nothing to get her ball or will attempt to dislocate your shoulders to tug her rope from your hands like a Malinois. She’s 4 this week! At least by the arbitrary birthday we decided on when we took her in based on her estimated age.



She was found at 6 months old in our neighborhood by my landlord and we took her in on Mother’s Day of 2021.

Glad we got to give her a new home, she’s my first dog as an adult and we accidentally got the best buddy for trips and garden chores.

 

I stopped at that one too. The food was actually decent for a gas station.

 

I've got a couple of friends with these within a mile or two of their houses who said it was pretty good for fast food. I liked my pulled pork and bag of jerky.

Yep! Awesome dogs. Just no good at listening or following most instructions if there’s not a good treat involved

 

LOL, yep. We have 2, our female, Yuuki, has that same coloring. I always say you have to tell them 3 times. First gets their attention, 2nd gets their consideration, 3rd they either do it or don't. Don't even bother with a 4th time, if they didn't do it on the 3rd try, it's not happening. Wicked smart, though. Yuuki has been opening doors since she could reach the knob. She can even pull them open. Had to put a round knob on the door out to the garage to keep her from going on a walkabout.

Our daughter kept rats, and if they escaped her room Yuuki would gently carry them back. My daughter moved out, so now Yuuki has taken to catching possums and bringing them in through the doggie doors like they are escaped rats. One slept under the bed all night and the better part of the next day until our male clued us in that there was something there. I've evicted 2 in the last couple of weeks.

 

Your story kept getting better and better!! Lol. Enjoy the pups!

Awesome to hear about your pups too. They sound great. I’ll have to go back through here to see pics.

I’ve started looking for trainers, positive reinforcement with no attention collars. Lots of choices. We went through Petsmart for our first one and this time I want to try something a little more involved.
