I recently purchased a 2024 and did not add on any additional toyota coverage.
As I read through the forums, just seems like there are a ton of issues popping up that include engine and transmission faults.
I haven't read anything on electronics or the 4wd system yet.
But my question is, is anyone opting or going back for the higher toyota care plans like the 5yr/75,000 as a hedge for this being the new model?
Making me second guess what i should do.
    Thoughts?

IIRC can buy anytime before the basic warranty expires.

And there are threads on where to buy for much less than your local finance guy.

Did not buy it. But it is insurance...you either need it or you don't.

Awesome, that's good info and I'll search through the threads.
Is that for toyota care or for something aftermarket. Thanks for the info though

I hear ya. I never opt for anything above and beyond but I'm never usually able to buy a model in the first year. Usually the links get worked out. The way the i-force max pulls, does make me wonder if it can handle it for duration of the trucks life!
    Thanks for the reply

    Genuine Toyota. Something like Platinum.

Just remember that whatever it's miles/years are you subtract the miles/years of the base warranty to know what youre really buying.

Just to clarify for you, Toyota Care refers to the complimentary services every 5k miles for 2 years. Sounds like you’re asking about Toyota Platinum service contract (aka extended warranty, aka “I’m calling you about your cars warranty”). Jerry at Midwest Toyota is your guy.

I got the extended warranty it was 1200 for 7 years . With the Tundra engine issues, rental car coverage, all the new designed everything it didn't seem like that much. The electronics are pricy and i got a Premium package thats a bunch of complicated expensive things. One warranty claim would be cheaper than what I paid most likely.

Yes, I got that wrong. I need to reread what all is covered from the drive train and now the hybrid system. I didn't opt for anything extra and now I'm wondering if maybe I should pay a little more for the comfort.
I'll definitely be reading up and then contacting your recommendation. Thanks for the info!

Definitely, this is what I'm taking about. I'm trying to remember what the Toyota person was trying to sell me on. They had this tri-fold pamphlet and was pushing this and that and I felt like they were trying to catch me sleeping! Anywho, as I spend more time reading up, I feel like you. I'm starting to work about grabbing the new model before it's been vetted.
The electronics, the i-force max package and all the other goodies.
    Thanks for the info.

Call Jerry and get Platinum warranty. 1st year production. Do it. I did the same for my 2005 Taco.

Call or email Jerry. I had my warranty in 24 hours.

Just got a warranty from Jerry for my 2024. Super easy to deal with and the price was less than 1/2 what my dealer wanted.

For the 1st year production model, it is a no brainer.
I had Toyota Platinum warranty for my 2005 Taco (also 1st year model). It paid to replace and paint a bent tailgate, so I know it is works.
