Any beginner trails or nice scenic drives in the Central Coast area?
    Thanks

It's been a long time for me, but during my time at Poly, I remember going on some roads near Pozo Saloon.

Check out hollister hills, it's a 4wd park but you can get around most of it in 2wd. It was the most fun I was able to have in the area when all I had was a 2wd

Oh you mean central central coast. Then check out Clear creek management area. Closest blm to you. Lots of places to camp. Check out the sulphur mines.
I took my truck there when it was brand new back in 2017. Perfect amount of excitement for my first time.
You can also shoot there. just make sure a dirt hill is your target and away from the road.
I personally hate hollister. its boring. nothing to see. everything is staged and artificial. Was there for literally 1h and left, that’s including 20m messing with the stupid gate to get in. (not sure if thats still there, never gone back)

There's a lot more to Hollister than the staged 4WD type stuff. There's a few legit trails that put you super off camber, rocm crawling, and/or have you going up long, steep inclines on loose materials. Great place to test out your lockers.

Im sure. The place is just not for me. I guess for me the seeing things part is more important than the technical part. Besides, his looking for beginner and scenic drives for 2wd.

Appreciate the recs. Yeah, Im definitely more into a scenic drive than pushing the limits of my 2wd.

In that case forget hollister lol. There's one nice mountain you could climb for a decent view, but there's not much pretty stuff to look at.

Clear Creek is cool and fun to explore. Be sure to check out the rules and regs before you go. You need a permit to access and gate code to get in because, well, there's a fuck ton of abandoned asbestos mines out there. You can visit safely, just be sure to research it.

well, I got a permit for next weekend …yeah I did, even after doing the research. Sounds like one might need a spacesuit and a full decontamination facility for the truck before coming home.

Last time I went was years ago. I didnt turn into the management area. If you keep going south on Coalinga Rd. You will see sign for Condon Peak. Turn there. There wasn’t a gate there. You can see the mines from far away without being contaminated. https://maps.app.goo.gl/MqFRhcK9vqcmtcKG6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
