Go tundra rack and JD Howe setup. You couldn’t pay me to put free parts on from either Allpro or Marlin.

I’m just keep telling myself race truck parts race truck noises. Plus I’m old so and spent 18 years on an aircraft flight line so I dont hear as well as I use too.

Ok. Going to be a very similar deal to the 2nd gen. If you’re looking to remove the entire module you will need to re plumb the whole system and include a prop valve.

Being a 3rd gen it is likely you will need someone willing and able to disable ABS via HP tuners or the truck is likely to be unhappy.

Not sure if they check this stuff during inspections or not.

Question about the frame boxing: How do you coat the interior portion thoroughly?

I used high temp enamel on the back sides before welding in then fogged the inside of the frame.

Going to add more down the road? Not the strongest of structures how it is now. No real junctions and the sides could have been X’d and the rear tube landings probably should have been boxed.

Not trying to overly criticize as we all start somewhere. I’m sure it will be just fine for mounting shocks though!

"weldable" meaning it's metallic enough that it isn't gonna completely fuck your welds when it cooks off (still will a little). On the ones i've seen, that doesn't mean it's gonna stick around through welding more than any other paints made for metal

Also most are zinc based. So mildly poisonous fumes. Not sure how they're still a legal product imo

I did a few test welds before boxing my frame. Sprayed the backside of the plate and ran similar welds to what the frame would have. Seymour SS paint stayed in place and maintained its integrity. It gets soft when it's hot, but it hardens back up when it cools. Tried sanding, scraping, and hitting with a ball peen. No noticable difference in adherence or integrity to the areas that heat cycled compared to areas that didn't. So if nothing else, it's a better starting point than leaving it raw.

Not paint related, but I also cut off the bottom flange of the frame and replaced it with 1/4". Then I drilled about half a dozen 1.5' holes along each side. That way I can flush out the frame and snake the nozzle of a paint sprayer or your protectant of choice in there.

Anybody have any interest in JD inner fenders, JD slide rack, some advanced fiberglass fenders, front diff with 4.88s, even a front bumper made for the JD pivots and fiberglass?
The diff, slide rack, and bumper come off the truck tomorrow.
