Frame rust

    Trying to buy this 2004 Tacoma, it’s on the east coast so that already kinda raises some red flags considering the East coast is a cesspool for rust. I’m uploading some pictures of the frame so you guys can give me an opinion if the rust is really that bad. The truck itself is great, only 82,000 miles, 4WD, and at a good price. Please let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance. -Nate

    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Horrid photos for trying to make a buying choice. But it does not look good.

    That would require in in person look, hammer and probe test for me.

    Looks like underside has been coated long time ago; I bet there's lot of rust underneath it.

    Second picture top left. Frame has already been patched so it probably has terminal rust.

    Thanks for the responses, I’ve also done some more digging on frame rust and the headache it can cause, I’m not going to go through with it.

    Good call. Keep searching, preferably south and west. Can be close to impossible to find a clean Tacoma in the Northeast/Midwest. I bought mine in Washington and drove it back to Wisconsin.
