    It's WAY better, it's one from Aldi. It makes a Reeces taste like it was dragged across the sahara in a sandstorm, then dunked into a tilapia pond and dried with an old greasy rag that has 80/90 weight gear oil dripping off it.

    The o ring will last for years if you dont replace it. Move on with tour life and swap it next time ffs.

    not sure what you did but you can remove the filter without draining the oil.
    do what you have to do and the just replace the amount of oil that came out when you removed the filter

    As others have said if the O-ring is not damaged you are fine. As a matter of fact I change my O-ring on the drain plug of my filter housing about every 3rd oil change with no problems. I usually drop the filter housing into my drain pan in my street and don’t care if there is a little splash.

    Keep the two from that you did not install as additional spares, in case one breaks during an oil change. At least they provide new ones in each filter pack so you have more at hand.
