I've been having startup issues with my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off- Road, which has about 40,000 miles on it. When I press the start button, there's often a delay before the engine turns over, and the hesitation sometimes lasts up to 5 seconds or longer. It seems to be getting worse. The latest incident happened two days ago: the engine acted like it wanted to start but was idling as if it wasn't getting enough fuel. I stopped it and tried again, but it took slightly longer to start up. Once it gets going, it starts fine afterward.
I recently replaced the battery with a new Interstate one, following a visit to a mechanic who ran a full diagnostic with no found fault codes(cost me $180, unfortunately). Without a check engine light, it's tough to pinpoint the problem. What's frustrating is that it seems like I have to wait for a full breakdown before a mechanic can figure it out. Has anyone else experienced this?

There was a fuel pump recall you might want to look into.

Also, what’s a TRD Off Sport?

    Could be a knock off.
OP, you didn't by chance, buy your truck from a 3rd party Amazon seller with a lot of grammatical errors in the listing?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I'm sure it's the same pump.

I have not had the recall done because my fuel pump is not showing any symtoms. The way I read the recall it is probably all Tacoma.

It’s for both @monoman . Had mine replaced under the recall in my 2019 SR 2.7L years ago.
