When I went out there this past March, we landed in Phoenix, but our first night was up in Flagstaff, and I was just blown away at being on the highway going 80 mph to keep up with traffic and then passing a sign saying "8,000 ft elevation"!

I threw in the towel on my C5 experiment and am on the lookout for one of those, just haven't found the right one yet.

Should have just made a sign that said, "Trick & Treat" and let them try to figure out what the trick was they were receiving!

Pretty much the same in Texas. Or at the least it takes a lot longer to rust than in the northeast.

I drive down some secondary highways and often see shells of cars and trucks just sitting by the road. I saw a half dozen 1950s pick up trucks parked in a row on the side of the road. I also saw what looked like the shell of a Tri 5 sitting in someone's yard.

It's a paradise for car restorers.

    Another successful year. Thanks @jpereira2

Somehow by the grace of god all 6 skid bolts went back in.

This is what I was looking for zip ties for.

19-21 STi, Limited with big dumb wing or at a minimum base / Recaro, sub-30k miles, bone stock, mint, black or WRB.

I looked at a 2020 today at Woburn Toyota that seemed like an easy purchase but it just had too many cosmetic flaws I couldn’t look past, notably a spot on the rear bumper where it meets the quarter lip where the paint was chipping and starting to peel off the bumper. Chances are the metal for the quarter has a similar scrape and is a breeding ground for quarter panel rot which I still have PTSD from when I had my Accord fixed.

Shame because it was exactly what I’d want, otherwise.

Took a little chainsaw vacation down to the spot.

    20241101_150749.jpg

Pushed the firepit area back, moved and refilled the wood pile, and grubbed out all the toe catchers from around the new woodpile/splitting stump.

    20241102_115330.jpg

Chopped and stacked a lot of brush piles to start developing paths and areas to transplant seedlings. The brush piles will get mulched eventually to fill the footpath.

My sister is coming up in a few weeks, we're going to get the outhouse built.

I feel like the 2020’s and 2021’s are gonna be so expensive because they discontinued them. I’ll keep an eye out. Have you looked at autotempest.com? Easy way to search for specific vehicles nationwide

    I have.

There aren’t a ton running around. Price isn’t a concern at this point, I care more about condition than anything. L

I’d have included the 2018s, but I don’t feel like changing the HU and I want CarPlay, but the updates of the later cars are too good to pass up compared to the earlier ones.

Yeah I wish I got an 18 instead of my 17 just for the 6 piston calipers, but I like the look of the front end and the option of having fog lights on the 17.

I’m running one of those 10” Android headunits

Of course you need larger wheels for the larger brakes as I really liked the look of the GD BBS on the VA.

I don’t love the turn signal on the pre-18, but agree on the fog lamps. I know there’s the JDM replacements that have the DRL as well as the fog lamp provision. I kinda like the body colored retro covers some people run with the 04-05 style decals.

Realistically if I get one I’m doing the front and rear STi draw stiffeners, the STi flexible strut brace, rear OEM add-on spats and maybe the OEM Kicker. Maybe I’d add a front OEM lip, but I have zero intention for a downpipe, catback, flash, etc. I’ve been there and done that. I will miss my Defis, though. I don’t intend to do anything I can’t buy out of a Subaru catalog on this one.

I did see one with the JDM S204 BBS REs that looked ridiculous.

We’re going to go full APR retard with this one eventually I think. Front splitter, carbon hood and fenders, rear diffuser, etc.

Wife wants widebody, so widebody it will be

We had overheating issues while coming across the country so a larger radiator, colder thermostat, and… it’s probably time to pull the engine. As it is, with 80k, the stock clutch is starting to slip. New clutch and flywheel, probably rods and pistons, definitely head gaskets and head studs, maybe some 282 cams and head work if I’m lucky :stirthepot: If I’m going for the numbers I want, I’ll probably send the case halves to be line bored, close decked, and machined for 1/2” ARP head studs. AND one of those new Precision stock-location turbos that’ll put down close to 600 at the wheel
