    Are the studs too short short? They don’t protrude through the nut. I purchased acorn nuts for the steel wheels

    Use the top lugs for steelies, bottom lugs for alloys. Note the longer "cone" on the top lugs to reach inside the steelie wheels. Toyota sells them ... not sure of the part number though.

    EDIT: I just re-read that you say you bought the right ones ... sorry.

    Yes I am using acorn nuts. It’s strange because the auto store I bought the wheels from matched them to the truck

    That wheel looks like it's on backward.

    Wheel looks to be mounted properly to me...

    How much do the studs stick out from the wheel with the wheel mounted in position? Measure with a ruler, not your eyeball... If you have a 1/2" showing past the wheel I would think that is good.

    Studs look a little short but the picture is somewhat deceiving...

    @OldSchlPunk, Hmmm... Is that the valve stem at the 9 o'clock position???

    It's the truck that's on the wrong side of the wheel. yeah, that must be it...

    Hahaha...

    LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
    I was always taught that if the lugnut engagement is at least the same as the diameter of stud you're good to go.

    I get a couple more threads engaged, but yeah, less that looks good. No issues.

    Rule of thumb is six full threads at minimum to engage the lug nut.

    M12 x 1.5

    M12 is the screw diameter and 1.5 is the pitch. (pitch is the distance between crests of the thread)

    M12 = .472" stud diameter.
    1.5 = .059" pitch (distance between threads).

    6 full threads of engagement is = .354"
    8 full threads of engagement is = stud diameter (.472")
    9 full threads of engagement is = .531"

    I was always required to have atleast 2 threads protruding. But I come from the aircraft world :D
