    Hi TW,

I have decided to get rid of my Rough Country Vertex 3.5" Lift and replace it with either fox's or kings. I bought the kit a few years back, impulsively, thinking I needed 3.5" of lift to fit 33s and whatnot, my mistake. The kit isn't all that bad, the ride is actually pretty comfortable offroad with no sway bar and on the softest setting, however the 3.5" is way too much and is causing me way too many problems to be worth it anymore. I want to bring it down to 2-2.5" to mitigate some of the problems.

To make it more affordable, I want to do it in parts. I plan to first swap out the front suspension as that's where a large portion of my problems originate. Then the UCA's, then the rear suspension. My question is, will I be able to swap out the front shocks/coilovers and leave the RC UCAs until I can afford to buy nicer UCAs or will the shocks/coilovers not fit due to the UCAs?

Other than being wonky/goofy, will I run into any problems with mismatch branded front and rear shocks until I can replace the rears with something nicer?

Not super knowledgeable on suspension so dont roast me too hard.

    Thanks!

There should be no concerns with running different brand shocks and UCAs (I suspect more people actually do that than not). The RC UCAs should be fine, I probably wouldn't even bother to replace them myself unless they became a source of trouble.

Running Fox or King front shocks with your Vertex rears also won't damage anything. Swap the rear shocks when funds allow (who knows... the truck might even be fine with the Vertex rears still on it).

What does the rear lift you have consist of? Lifted leaf springs? Add-a-leafs? Blocks?

    Thanks for the info!

rear suspension consists of the RC N2 Shocks with add-a-leafs. Will likely replace them because I feel like it sags a bit with the tent and rack on the back

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Be mindful of the service intervals or those shocks you mentioned. Cheers!

Your profile nor your post tell us the model of your truck. Usually that can be useful for folks to help you.

There are other, less expensive, popular setups available as well.

A call to one of our trusted vendors, @memario1214 of Hotshot Offroad to talk through your goals would probably be a good idea.
