So i have racked my brain trying to find a way to fix the gaps at the back of my leer canopy where the door and tail gate meet to keep the dust and water out for turning my 2nd gen into a camper.
I noticed on my search multiple other threads with people dealing with this same pain in the ass problem. I went to multiple truck out fitters and all of them said that whoever had the canopy installed before i bought the truck did a rough job cutting it in to the box (very very true). Most of these guys said other then playing around with expensive leer seals that may not work it most likely needs a rear window replacement for $$$$$.
Folks i have finally come to you with a solution. I found in the weather seal section of lowes a type of home seal that can be manipulated into a 90 degree seal. It came with a hard plastic section to attach to a home window which i cut off. I then added some extra duty no more nail double sided adhesive and bam!!!!
This over all cost me $21 instead, and the good double sided adhesive was more expensive the the seal.
Attached are some photos of the product i used and the before and after fitting. I hope this can help some of you guys keep the dust and water out.

Yep, that bulb seal goes flat and the replacement that I bought from one of the truck supply places for my ARE sucks worse.

Where did you put the glue, on the folded over part (right side of your picture showing where to cut)?

No I didn’t use glue just in case I have to replace it I used really good no more nails double sided tape for in door outdoor use. I applied it to the top flat section on the picture.
The bulb seal is still there, this new seal is like a second (double) seal that sits right next to it.

Hey Tacojay88, does the part of the strip you cut off face the outside of the truck? As opposed to facing towards the bed of the truck?.
