Hello everybody, i am new to the forum. i have a quick question. i installed a new throw out bearing with my clutch kit ( throw out bearing was part of the kit) but now the noise is even worse. so my question is should i go and replace it with a oem one or should i just jump to the urd kit?

    I have mods
If you are sure you have the clutch pedal adjusted properly, then I would personally go with the Clutch Masters hydraulic one. LCE and URD both sell it. Not cheap at $533 or so. Makes the OEM one more appealing.

If the hydro bearing is out of our budget, get the URD sleeve and oversized bearing kit. I run it in both of my trucks and no more noise. The issue is not the bearings but the aluminum quill of the transmission that the bearing rides on. Since it aluminum it gets scored up over time and the bearing rattles around on it making the noise. The URD kit has a much harder machines sleeve that installs over the quill and a new larger bearing

@GearHead899 how long have you had the urd for? That is what I have been looking at and read about. When I first dropped the transmission it was scored but could not tell if it was worked out too bad

My son is presently in this mess. He had the 1st crappy one installed. The seal blew within miles. Fought them to get a seal. 2nd trans removal. Wrong seal. Supposed correct seal. Made a cross country trip then blew out again at home after a 1 month nap. Trans out again.

The newer set up sounds good but unless your a mechanical engineer sounds unrealistic to properly set up.

The steel sleeve has got to be the best option. I know the Ford f250 5speed has an aluminum collar than scores but unlike the Toyota its a servicable part.

I have had the sleeve kit in both trucks for over a year. The one truck doesnt get driven much but the other one is driven every day. And thats the one that made the noise the most (because its a high mileage truck). But all good ever since

That is good to hear that. I want to make a choice and not have to worry about it for a while. @1 Limited Toyota are you talking about the urd part?

I think it was the Clutch Master convertion. That was the first cheaper one wasn't it?

I have had two X-Runners and from my understanding Toyota of America knows about the noise but hasn’t come up with a solution. I bought my current one with 5k miles on it and it has always sounded like that
