    Evening all:

Walked out back late today and found a rub and a scrape just off the yard, I need to start spending some time back there.

Forgot to mention, yesterday I was walking out and noticed the door wide open on my buddies Ram Charger. WTH, he never has the door open if he's back before me, got to the Ram and he's nowhere around. The door lock was down and I figured that he somehow forgot to close the door when we left the vehicle to go hunting, luckily after sitting for about 3 1/2 hrs. with all the interior lights on, it started right up.

First time to a Neurologist to have a 6 month foot, ankle, calf injury looked at. Very interesting process for evaluation.
Now I can see the relationship to Acupuncture. I might give that a try to help with lingering issues. Next time I won't drink
so much while camping in the desert or make damn sure I have my headlamp on!

@Ridgewalker1 We could sure use some rain here in Maryland.

Good morning. Slept in and going to try to get back to a normal pace today. I need to call an old friend. She would like a TV wall mounted in her bedroom. We are going to measure her existing space in the living room to see if it makes sense to put a larger TV in the living room and move the living room TV to the bedroom.

Seems like every time I check this thread, is more of the same. Illnesses, Dr. Appointments, ect. I'm having a small needle Thyroid biopsy on Monday Morning. Really Hoping this turns out to be a big nothing burger. Going on 9 months post op on my last fusion surgery. I really wish things were going better in this area, but I'm still have quite a bit of pain in my back. I think this is going to be the new Normal for me.

That sounds awful! I am one of the fortunate at 77 to be in excellent health. It pains me to see so many not doing well.
Stay tough and enjoy every minute you have. At our ages, it can be over in a flash.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! I DID get the yard mowed. Took a while, and I needed some heat after. Cool morning today in the 50's. A therapy at 2, so deciding what putz to do. Need to get after the greenhouse to switch it to winter, but I think I will start that tomorrow. Oh, replacement mirrors for the truck came yesterday, so maybe.... passenger side went all floppy, and all the screws were tight. Plastic is worn anyway.

Please help me understand the role of a neurologist for inter-related ankle/leg issues. Over the last 6 months I’ve experienced something similar, starting with a strained Achilles from snowshoeing, then a gastrocnemius tear (calf muscle) while hiking a couple of months later, followed by a severe ankle roll (hiking on scree) that resulted in a small bone fracture. I’m mending now, working on strength and balance exercises. Massage is not indicated but acupuncture helps a bit. I think mostly I need time and slightly less challenging routes in the mountains.

I asked my primary care Doctor for referral to a Neurologist because this injury is lingering on after 6 months. In the last 3 or so weeks there is a numb spot on the bottom of my foot between the heel and arch.
(No, I did not step in gum or shit while barefooted) It's improving day by day incrementally
Additionally I went to a Chiropractor who used a class 4 laser on my Achilles and my Calf muscle along with massage. I've had X-rays on my ankle and foot as well as an MRI. No calf MRI was done.
During the Neurologist evaluation the Doctor stimulated my foot, ankle, calf muscles to measure whatever it is they measure to make a determination. Quite interesting to feel the nerve "tree" light up in
a particular area. Part of the procedure is to use an acupuncture type needle to get an audible measurement of the nerve function and health. That too was very interesting to listen to my nerves firing off!

Stay out of the Desert and don't try and walk in the dark with a Jack Daniels in your hand and you should continue to be fine!

Sounds like no fun. Also sounds like peripheral neuropathy as described in this Mayo Clinic link. Good luck getting past this.

Okay... story time. Friends and I were out in the desert, eastern side of Capitol Reef and well away from any of the tourist/campground/yada yada places where us being loud and obnoxious would disturb anyone. Doing shots of Jose Cuervo and doing stupid shit... having fun. And a toad hops out of the desert and into the light of the campfire... headed straight into the flames... and he's determined. A bunch of drunks doing the best they can do to stop the suicidal toad and he's doing his best to leap into the fire. And finally I pick him up just before he vaults into oblivion.

I run out into the desert with the little hari kari croaker and put him down gently on the other side of a gully, at least a couple of hundred feet from the flames of doom.

And back to the fire to do more shots with friends...

And in maybe ten minutes... the toad is back and just as determined. Sadly, this time he avoided our best attempts to save him, and into the glowing hot coals he went.

Like a moth to a flame.

    RIP Mr. Toad...
