yeah, assuming that’s public land, my wife and I would like to get out there before it’s not.

 

I know exactly where that is -- I traveled that road recently to get to the second photo in this group.

 

I missed it by just a few miles, we camped just up North at the State Park. Next time we will drive South down the wash.

 

Is that a Cordon cactus? Appx where was the shot taken - San Filipe BCN?

 

I believe it is a "Cardon"...

I took the picture on the Southern end of "Valle de los Cirios" ('Valley of the candles' - a reference to the many tall cactus in the area). I'd guess some 180 - 200 miles South of San Felipe.
