I'm planning to install a steel engine skid and maybe a transmission skid.

How does the DV8 compare to the RCI in the steel plates?

Does anyone have a review on the DV8?

They are probably basically the same thing. If you want to know the differences, e.g. the steel alloy, you should call the manufacturers. Otherwise, I suggest getting the one with the smallest shipping cost (usually the closest) and lead time.

Very few people are qualified to give a useful review. The majority will simply say that whatever they bought is the best.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
RCI only because they are US made. They have two sales/shop guys that run the floor. Evin has a built g3 , Tim builds a g2 and old trucks. They answer questions joke about drinking beer and they both support our local Norther Colorado 4x4 community.

I just gave you two (Evin and Tim) good reasons to buy from RCI

A couple things to consider. From a quick search online - The front engine skid plate from DV8 has no oil filter or drain access. It has to come off for oil changes. Huge pain in the ass when there are better options out there. It looks like it's no longer for sale on their site.

This one does not matter in terms of functionality, just for your consideration. There are some products out there that just scream Amazon purchase as loud as possible, primarily to the individuals that know and understand 4x4 builds. Don't get me wrong, I have Amazon purchases on my truck also, just not anything important like skids.

I had full RCI skids until the new bumper that requires a frame chop. Up until then, no issues with RCI.
