Maybe this could be a new “sticky” or whatever you guys call it here. I’m just trying to get a feel for what I have. I’m a mechanic by trade so long life vehicle means I did a good job..but I’ll always accept criticism.

I own a 2011 TX Pro TRD, 4.0L, automatic with all the fancy buttons inside, 245k miles-ish. I bought it off one of our customers for $500 (scrap value because that’s what he was going to do with it) before the cap. I put a TON of time and a fair bit of money into it. It has survived me for close to 20k miles and a year and a half.

I absolutely love the truck and that’s coming from someone who was fed Fords and Chevys for the first 16 years of life (I have a girlfriend, that I’ve met in real life so take it easy..) I turned out halfway decent.

I just really want to get a feel for if this truck is worth anything. It needs a LF lower ball joint, right axle seal, both rear axle bearings and has a cat efficiency code (haven’t gone the route of o2 sensors yet, someone must’ve installed a spacer..) I do suspect the cat being the culprit at 245k. Both manifolds are leaking but that was a condition after the cat codes so that isn’t the check engine light problem.

I know aftermarket stuff is never “refundable” you never get what you have in it back out. But I have light bars and pods, wheel well lights, LED everything in it, tinted windows and a windshield brow. The cap might add some value. I built a very crude tubular rear bumper and put a curt hitch on because the rear bumper/hitch was junk. Fresh tires, pads, rotors, fixed a leaking rack, have always checked fluid levels and maintained everything that needed it.

I’m not looking for offers. I’m looking for honest opinions but I know what I got.. or do I..?

it really depends on the area, the buyer, and the rust level on that frame.

    snow belt, it's worth around $5-10k. rust-free california, it's worth about $2k.

The 245K miles pulls it down.

    I just sold a 2005 V6 SR5 TRD OffRoad in Southern Oregon (need a 4x4) for 6k.

    - 255k miles
    - both Cat codes (definitely plugging)
    - Leaky head (recently started chugging coolant, milkshake on oil cap, but not on dipstick)
    - replaced coils and plugs that started popping like popcorn 6 years ago (likely as head started leaking and cats started plugging from age and misfiring. Lesson learned always go OEM (denso) with these puppies).
    - recently replaced O2 sensors (old ones were factory and didn’t smell the bad cats)

all else runs smooth and no wrecks. Codes for random misfiring (coolant on a couple heads) but was running fine, slightly slugging from bad airflow.

Do with that info what you will!

I think you can get 5-10k as well depending on where you’re at

Sounds like it had/has issues and with that high mileage i wouldn't touch it... but that's just me. Got any pictures of the frame?

I’ll post up some pictures of the frame the next time I put it up on the lift. I just Fluid Filmed for this year so it’ll look a little slimy. Thanks everybody for all the input!
