Dispersed Electrical Issues

I've slowly accumulate various electrical issues with my 01 Tacoma. Things like the cruise control, radio, side mirror adjustment, horn and now most recently the turn signals. The other ones I could deal with, but the turn signals are a bit more important. The turn signal indicator on the dash isn't showing up, so I think it's a deeper issue. Any help on where to start and what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

 

Start simple. Clean up your grounds. Bad grounds will cause strange things to happen. You have a 24 YO truck. Generally, clean up the contacts.

 

Great suggestion, thank you. Where could I find the ground locations? Or should I just do all the connections?

 

I would start in the engine bay. My Highlander had multiple grounds going from the chassis to the engine block and head. Bad ground caused half my instrument panel to go dark.

look for critter wire chewing…..especially if taco parks outside

just bc I just found this out after 23yrs of paying for critter damage….all manufacturers use freakin corn starch on outside of colored wires inside the wire sheath to promote easy movement/less pinching of said harness

So it ended up being a fuse
Idk why I didn't check those before, but the turn signal and ACC fuses were blown
But after replacing them last night, the blinker fuse blew again this morning. Any thoughts?

 

you have a short somewhere if it's blowing the fuse after just changing it.
