    Hello,

I am out of town traveling for work over the weekend. My key fob died when I got to work. I replaced my key fob with the needed CR2016 3V battery positioned in the proper way. The key fob did not work still. Maybe I need to re-program? (Will look into it once I’m back home from work trip). Strangely enough my accessories all of a sudden won’t turn off now even after I put the car in park and shut the car off. I lock the car manually with the key and wait for a few minutes but the dash board gauge is still on (says “Tacoma”). Not sure if this is going to drain the battery so I just unplugged it.

After about 20 minutes I plug the battery back in and tested out to see if the accessories would shut off properly but it still does not. I have never seen this issue before; is this a byproduct of the key fob being dead/not re-programmed and the car not sensing that it’s being locked ? Not exactly too sure
