Partially Annoyed with the Auto Headlights

I like the driver "back-up" function of the Auto Dimming Headlights with two exceptions:
    1) While on the trail at night the less-than-21MPH dimming is annoying as the high beams cannot be activated.
    2) On a regular road while in turns the lights will not change from low to high until the vehicle straightens out on the road. It would be nice to see more clearly in the turn than the default allows.

The first issue could be rectified by use of the dash switch to activate and deactivate the feature, not a big deal. Unfortunately, I have put that switch behind the dash and used its position for another switch. I may have to rethink this decision.

The second I have no solution except to hold the light stalk towards the driver while in an extended turn.

Have these issues been discussed before and if so, were other solutions found?

Agree. Completely irritated with "auto" lights. All of the described plus... just because I don't like it! Keeping function off using switch.

The 3rd gen auto brights are the worst of any vehicle I’ve owned/driven. They just suck all around. Mine were off after the first few nights of driving after I bought the truck.

I turned my off also, when leaving my house I go down a hill and right back up again, brights don't turn on until going back up the hill, need them before hand to see a head of the dip.. I figure I will just be a caveman and operate the brights the old fashioned way, manually... lol

Find the switch, turn in off, use lights as manual. Auto dimming headlamps suck donkey ballz! They have perameters but, dont know when or how you actually want to use them. Manual is the way to go here. Ski
