Everyone's gonna love this story - it's all true because I'm just not funny enough to make this shtuff up! I've had this bad metal on metal banging noise for several years whenever I go over railroad tracks or speed humps. The "clunking" is strong enough that it could be felt through the floor board. Took it to the dealer multiple times and they said everything is fine. Each time I asked to them to check the struts and they repeatedly said they look fine. Several weeks ago I took it in and they literally sent me a video saying the problem was both my front lower control arms were leaking oil and needed to be replaced at a cost of $2,000. This is no joke - they literally tried to convince me that solid metal parts were leaking oil! I contacted Toyota customer complaints and they told me they couldn't help since I didn't have an extended warranty. Last week I took it to a small local shop and a guy with 35 years experience said the struts were broken internally then proceeded to colorfully describe in detail the competency or lack thereof of the mechanics at my dealership. Put 2 new struts on (Bilstein 5100s) and now it rides better than new! Turns out the fluid they saw on the LCRs was from the busted struts!

Your post would be more digestible if
    you used punctuation and paragriahs.

I was poking fun at how he spelt “paragraihs” (paragraphs?) while correcting the OP’s grammar.
