Good morning.

Busy at work this morning. I hope everyone has a good Saturday.

 

Happy lunchtime everyone. ( east coast time)

I loaded Prudence with all of the construction debris/ excessive clutter from the shed and made a dump run this morning. It's been running really good since I changed the fuel filter ( for a 3rd time) and dumped a few cans of dry-gas into the tank. I'm sure that a new tank would cure the issues, and I need to be running a Vortec fuel pump for my engine setup anyway. I'm just not ready to drop the tank.

I always laugh to myself that I'm so amused to be cruising around in a 36 year old crusty truck, the V8 sound and manual gearbox are the key factors.

You gots skills! Just think at how much more you could advance those skills by relining my barn coat for me. I'll even let you pick the flannel pattern. ( mooseses, trees, SW Navajo,..ect)

Thanks for the "fruit" information. I will deal with it next week, I'm still grinding my teeth together when I think about it. I need the person at the store to help me, not be my whipping post.

The Taco is the only vehicle that I can actually interface it into, as well as bluetooth to the S20 to stream Pandora. I would be lost in anything newer that makes you run everything through a paired phone.

 

What are the symptoms that led you dry gas?

My fuel filter is in the gas tank

Made a car purchase. Audi Q3. Comfy leather seats and plenty of giddy up. They have to get the exact model from another dealer as the wife wanted a gray seat vs black. I like the blacked out grill and emblems. Same basic car as this one which we drove:

 

Hesitation/stumbling upon acceleration, like it was starving for fuel. I cracked open the inlet side of the filter filter and got rusty water mixed in with the fuel. The truck sat for a long time so I expected something like that to happen. The shit quality fuel that we get these days absorbs water faster.

 

I was dealing with hesitations then I realized it was when I fueled up in Oregon and Northern Cal. I never have the issue when I am in So cal.
Might take some for the next trip

I’ve since learned that the old Taco was in a rollover, the cab was shit, but not the engine. So it’s an ‘island vehicle’ now. Fully tagged/registered. I’ll prob have an island car some day too (island car= car just to drive on the island-rack up the short but frequent miles visiting friends, going to post office, house/pet sitting…)

island life has been good this season. House/pet sitting side hustle going very well!
