a co-worker just had something sort of similar. it really was a making of his own doing, but still causes major stress and strife.

he had his own tattoo shop for a few years, skipped paying rent, and taxes, and it's all coming due now(i think the shop failed, but he really doesn't talk about it). he's got monthly scheduled court meetings to pay back the missed rent. and last week, the government stepped up and pulled out something like $4k in back taxes from his primary checking account. he had something like $20 in the account at the time, so the account just went $3980 negative. i don't fully understand how it works that way, but it did, and they told him it will stay negative until his directly-deposited paycheck into that account brings the account balance back to positive.

and that would be fine if he didn't need to pay his mortgage, utilities, or feed and clothe his family, you know, general existence stuff. fortunately, some of his family stepped up to help him out for the time being, but it's definitely a rough time for him.

That's how good (but misguided) people end up in big trouble. It's a shame it happens that way

    Morning folks :pccoffee:

Looks like I missed a good bit around in here in 4 days. @six5crèéd glad your dad is on the mend!

Speaking of being in the sticks and internet... I'm fortunate enough to be in somewhat of a county setting (everyone has seen my backyard view), but I live on a main rural route. So, Xfinity has lines on the poles that go in between town so naturally get cable internet. I'm able to get 1GB speeds out here.

Gubmint gonna get what the gubmint gets…

Man, that is some poor decision making. The reason he doesn’t want to talk about id could be he was totally overwhelmed and might not have known what he was getting into.

Good to hear about your dad @six5crèéd . I hope he’s out of there soon.

Hey @RustyGreen , watcha got planned for a winter project?

Good morning everyone, I hope you have a pleasant Sunday :hattip:

I need to have something to drive by Dec 1st.

The old XJ Cherokee needs some brake work and rust repair to pass inspection. :annoyed:

Then there is also Mrs Greens old 97 Subaru that needs rust repair too, we always try to keep 3 at home in case one of the daily runners is out of service.
