Wow - what a trip! I've been up to Mt Guadalupe - that is quite the little stair-master hike. I remember coming around a bend, thinking 'how much further', and hitting this section. I look up and there is another hiker up there, so just dig in and keep climbing.

    Find the other hiker.jpg

The view from the top is amazing. 360-degree view and no signs of civilization that I could see.

I couldn't make that hike but I'd love to get up there with my Nikon camera and Tokina 11-16 and shoot the milky way.
Those who haven't experienced true Dark-Sky areas have no idea how brilliant the night sky is, with the naked eye stars are forever.
You can track satellites ( ie: ISS ) from horizon to horizon - truly a sight to behold.

I've posted these before elsewhere - and trust me these images copy/pasted are degraded by 25% in clarity. I 'painted' the rock formations
with a head-lamp... the big 'blob' is Jupiter, and in the second you see a plane enter the frame. This was with an older camera - my newer
    one is even better.

Wow!!! We just got back from Big Bend NP, and for sure the stars there are AMAZING!

We didn’t have a fancy camera, my I Phone didn’t do much justice.

Our first time to Big Bend NP. We did not hike much due to my ACL surgery. But, driving and camping around there was amazing!

At night it is very dark, but the stars were lighting up the sky.

Beautiful place! It's my favorite of all the NPs I've been to. Yeah...it's in the middle of nowhere, but worth the drive!

Thanks! I'm forever tweaking and refining :D

It was something! I actually got a little lost at the end but found the trail eventually. I've climbed some tall peaks but that was by far one of the best views I've been awarded. 10/10!

Those came out great! highlighting the mountains makes all the difference. I did take a bunch of shots with a "real" camera, Sony A7III, but none really managed to capture the Milky Way how I wanted.

A couple days ago in the Eastern Mojave -- camping in a smooth, sandy wash lined with tamarisks (stealthy + wind-block). No snorkel is required.

How did she pull - I assume S4 and ECT ?...
Did you experience struggles on inclines - I'm surprised that my smaller camper causes struggles on inclines.
Straight away roads no problem at all but inclines can cause a strain.

In all fairness Milky Way season is pretty much done. I like getting out in September, when it shows up around 8:45 pm.
I'm a bit long in the tooth to be up in the wee hours.

You'll love it. In 2003 we did the Alaska Highway to Whitehorse. Then we cut over to Skagway Alaska. Then Back to Whitehorse. Being up there after the labor day long weekend all attractions were shut down in Dawson City. So we decided not to go. From Whitehorse we went back down Highway 37 Stewart-Cassiar Scenic Route 18 days on the road and loved every minute of it with our 1992 Toyota truck towing a 12' travel trailer. We started from the Lower mainland first week of September. No crowds and no bugs. We did encounter some snow. We want to go back sometime. We talk about it all the time. This time to Dawson City Yukon and then on to Tuk.

Just a few photos from that trip. Truck was flawless. Even with 220K Kms. It did develop one very small leak on the top tank of the radiator. Lol some putty like stuff (JB Weld?) from Canadian Tire in Dawson Creek and that did the trick.
