    Hi All,
My wife noticed some smoke on startup coming out of my taco, and I am due for an oil change here in month or so. Last oil change was at a Chevy dealership, if that matters. I've only owned the truck for under a year and it has 68000 miles on it. I want to know if this exhaust looks like there's a problem or if y'all think I need to have this attended to. Thanks!

Looks like normal condensation to me. That time of year.

Oil smoke is usually bluish white. And it would always be there, as oil would be continuously getting by the valve seals. If it's just on startup and white, it's probably moisture.

Hey y'all I really appreciate it. I don't have the smoke detective skills I witnessed on here so I thought before the next oil change, more driving, and state inspection I'd try to get ahead of it.

Haha I've been lurking for 1.5 years, since deciding to get a taco.

If oil dipstick is reading fine its fine. White smoke can mean overfill but if that was the case it should have been having white smoke all the way from oil change to now. Its because of cold weather, mine is same.

If the truck had high milage I would say it’s possible the valve seals are bad allowing oil to leak into cylinders and burning off on start up. But from watching the video it’s obvious that’s just normal start in cooler temperatures.

Yes as others have stated. Normal. Do you know what to look for post oil changes? Can you find a trusted garage?

I’ve seen this before. Part it out immediately…Nah, just kidding.

That’s condensation, evaporated right off your tailpipe.

Just ck your oil level regularly, always make sure the Chevy dealer tightens things up correctly, good to go for 250k mi.

What was the temperature outside when this was happening ? If below 35F or so then probably normal cool air condensation, hot exhaust meeting cold air. Normal. Haven't you seen that in previous vehicles?
