I called the contractor who initially installed my septic 28 years back. They had the distribution box in stock with all parts needed. Plumbing supply houses don’t carry septic equipment

Wanted the minimal look. These 1x’s are about 3ft in the ground, so plenty sturdy to hold the thin fence slats. They were also easy to shape into a “spike” for driving into the ground lol

    Built a 8 x 20 loft in my garage
I’ve been in my house about 20 yrs
The first 15 my garage never flooded
Since they redid the bridge on my street garage has flooded 3 time
There’s a stream 1 house down that over flows, all the water runs down my driveway and floods my yard.
    There’s no stopping it
It’s only a few inches but loaded with mud

My garage fridge bit the dust during last hurricane power transfer to the portable generator. I watched a few videos on diagnosing and repair, and I got lucky, well, got lucky with the fridge. The compressor seemed to be running fine, but only the bottom of the freezer was freezing. That was a clue. I found that the compressor fan was not operating, and the cooling fan was also observed not running. I pulled both fans and after some diagnosis decided this was likely the problem, could have been the board but my fingers were crossed and the diagnosis of the fans included extraction and connecting to 110V which produced nothing.

I figured fixing better in the long run as compared to a trip to the metal/appliance recycling center which probably would have produced about $30.00.

Got the fans from Amazon, $16 + $19 and some change and taxes, plugged them into the fridge in their location, and wa-la, all fans are now working. Cleaned the heck out of it, found out there are 5 bulbs in the fridge and freezer combined, replaced 3 of them, tightened a loose door hinge bolt that has been loose for the past 6+ years lubed up the lower hinges and the popping noise is gone and the doors are SO smooth operation.

Added a Holiday receptacle today. Going to hang some lights for the first time in 20 years and I'm lazy about it. Simple timer.

Box up by the soffit. Also note this is not the right cover. My mind went stupid at the store and forgot to buy an in use cover. Circuit is also GFCI protected.

Guys I could use some advice on my generator case lid. I'm getting some surface rust, what are some options to arresting this rust-advancement?

Can I spray this rustoleum directly without any preparation more than scrubbing off dirt with a kitchen scouring pad? Which I've just done.

Okay, after zooming into preparation, a light sanding is suggested, I suppose I can hit it with 220 grit.

If you want to do it right, that rust needs to all be sanded off smooth as possible. Then a treatment product followed up with your choice of finish.

Yeah I want to do it right. Darn, thought I was done with this never ending maintenance after the scouring pad cleaning today. :(

    :)

Which treatment product could handle this?

If you sand off enough I've had very good luck with this product.

They make rust reformer products, but I've never used them. I always try and get off as much rust as I can. If you do want something more, OSPHO makes a really good product.

This has been our project this year.

Finished the stairs yesterday and trimmed the pole and around windows/sliding door. Whole basement has been finished out.

Handled it. 220 grit all over the top, cheesecloth, then rustoleum. If the rust would have been worse I would have thought more about using a primer but it came off with sander, more of a discoloration of paint rather than rusted through.

    Thanks.
