I live next door to a 96 year old lady. I noticed she gets sad over the holidays.

check on each other people. some peoples children suck. people get more depressed during the holidays.

just a friendly reminder. happy holidays.

Good thread, free bump. Check on your friends in general. Holiday season brings seasonal depression to many, whether that be less sunlight, remembering those who've passed and won't be there this year, or trying to afford a decent Christmas for their kids (even if their household has multiple incomes). Life is tough, especially in this economy; if you cant afford a breakfast burrito, a simple text goes a long way

    Great idea!

Just had Veteran's Day breakfast at Bob Evans which brings out lots of older folks.

You never know, you might see a lone diner/Veteran having breakfast by themselves.

Thoughtful idea. Also consider offering to take them to any needed dr. appts and flu shots etc. if they can't get around well by themselves.

    Good thread.

I check in on my friend's mom during his birthday, and Veteran's day.

He passed some 17 years ago, but we still bring him up and talk for a bit; she finds comfort knowing he isn't forgotten.

Check in on your friends, friends' family, and others that may need it.

We've all got our own battles, and a simple reminder that we're not alone is all someone may need.
