When will the new Tacoma offer 2 door model is the TDR Sport

when will the new Tacoma TDR and Off Road be offered in a 2 door?

The week after Jeep admits their product is inferior to a Tacoma. Maybe the next day.

 

No rear link on the Xtra Cab, closest you can get is a Rwd TRD Prerunner.

 

They show them on the Toyota site or they did. I was waiting for one as well but they only made fleet leaf spring version. I have no use for my rear seats and would rather the truck be shorter overall.

Because Toyota elected to not offer and Extra-Cab...I will be staying with my 2016. I need a 6ft bed, and don't need a 4-door. I've got 140K on it now and it's still running great...Proud I chose to have an MT also. Figured I could replace all the moving parts for less than the cost of a new truck. Sorry Toyota! My 2018 Runner is another matter. I totally love it. However, I am anxious to see the new ones, previews look great. Hopefully it will not come with all mechanical issues the new Tacoma's have. Perhaps being only made in Japan will make the difference.

 

All the exta cabs ive seen have been a longbed only.
Did you actually do your DD, are they infact shorter than a double cab shortbed?

I am still waiting for Sheldon to crawl in the back of the "xtra cab" to fish out some tools that have floated out of place.
I was disappointed at Toyota's decision(s) to discontinue the "access cab" (with fully opening doors to the extra space behind the front seats).
"Why" Toyota made this decision has been covered in multiple posts since the introduction of the 4G.

Then, doubly disappointed in their decision(s) to not extend the "xtra cab" option to the higher trim models -- TRD Off-Road and Sport.

Oh well. I moved on. I found options that make the DCSB workable for me in my occasional camping outings, while still allowing me to park in my garage.
(although I have yet to implement those options on my new Tacoma, so we shall see...)

 

I need a 6’ bed do not need back seats. i have a 24 OR 6’ bed premium. The useless back seats make it too long.

 

OOPS - I meant to write - ACCESS -CAB - The Cab with the small doors. This is what I have. The 'Extra-Cab' does not have any doors and is much like previous years when you had to push and/or tilt the seat forward to gain access to the space behind....I know, I had one or two of these. (My 2016 is my 5th Toyota P.U.).It came as a Sport, however, not liking the faux-scoop, I traded it with a girl for her Off-Road Hood. The Grille is an OEM, not a knock-off. Both are shown in the picture. It's been a wonderful and useful machine. Clay
