Don’t forget you can lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed between the wheel wells.

not that people with midsized do that though.

Genuine opinions should always be allowed. You got to keep in mind that day in and day out we have gen 1-3 owners shitting on the 4th gen when most have never even been inside one.

Eventually I will offer my opinion of the 4 gen, as an owner. After nearly 2000 miles I think it would still be premature right now. But you can bank on one thing from me, if there was a show stopper on my truck, you would definitely hear about it post haste.

This right here. Can’t blame 4g owners for getting tired of all the people bitching about a truck they don’t want in the first place. As a 3rd gen owner I think they did a great job with the 4th. From the few test drives I did you can Toyota put a lot of resources into this platform. They addressed the shortcomings of the 3g while keeping it familiar. Excited to upgrade eventually, glad Toyota is not just resting on its reputation for “reliability”. Lord knows the same people would complain if they didn’t try to compete on performance, tech, etc.

Saw a TH out in the wild for the first time! It looks good! Toyota really designed that well especially with not making the snorkel too obnoxious.

Most of what I have seen in the past here is people forming opinions on incorrect information. Most 4g owners will provide corrected information. Original poster sees that as an attack on their opinion while it's actually a correction on the information they are using to form an opinion.

That's what's happening here. Poster says they won't buy the truck because of TSB, they are told the TSB is corrected, bends over backwards to defend opinion instead of just saying "oh thanks for the info".

As a frequent flyer of new Toyota’s myself, I inherently tend to listen mostly to the new Gen4 owners here, and other forums. And, three items seem to show up repeatedly:

    1. They’re fine trucks that successfully address the prior Gen’s main issues. I see significant consensus on this one.

    2. They have first-year issues that need to be worked out.

    3. They’re expensive. Even with discounts.

Item #2 is a flashback to 2016. Otherwise, I see a reasonable case to consider purchasing a 2026 Tacoma.

    @Calamity_taco

    Can it be disabled?

Also, when exactly does it sound? When the a open is and the truck is running?

I thought the current sound had been around since the 90's, lol.

I think he was referring to the Ranger Raptor. If it’s like the Tacoma, Carista will allow you to disable it.

Strange that Ranger Raptor would have a different door chime that the standard Ford chime.

just a couple of things tbh
that im not sure of tbh? i had asked on the 5g ranger forum once but everyone over there just liked it because old people lol so nobody answered how to disable it!

for when it actually goes off is when the door is open. the ranger was a ton worse then my current f150 but right when you open the door it does the doo da doo, doo da doo. sound and stops then you put the key in with the door closed it will do it for a few seconds buuuuut if you leave the key in with the door open it will eventually scream at you with the sound like yo! you left keys in here and the door open dummy! my 2022 ranger was a lot louder and did the noise a lot more i hated it lol

im not sure if its changed but i know since the early 2000s at least its been the same little jingle tone lol

edit-okay yes they changed it from the 90s old ones, twice actually and the current sound was added in 2010 i guess. the 90s was just two dings but the newer ones have this little jingle that you can hear from space and that haunts my dreams!
i wasnt no. i never had a ranger raptor now i wish i did that would be cool! ive only had a 2022 ranger xlt fx4 and my current 2017 xl f150 no raptor yet!

    Ranger Raptor, sorry TW
I honestly haven't heard this noise but if I open my door the engine is typically off. The one thing I find so annoying that Ford needs to change (maybe Forscan can change it) is the seatbelt notification. Even if your seatbelt is buckled, it pops up in DIC the seatbelt status and you have to press "ok" to get it to go away. Every. Single. Time.
