Dang. What us it with you and mud holes? LOL BTW, I think your tracks are still sorta visible at "Shay's Corner."

Glad you got out okay and are working on drying out.

Got the truck put back together after a week of letting things dry out while riding dirty

Now the starter is giving me issues, amazingly they don’t like being underwater. Tried to pull it out last night but apparently I don’t have the skills to make that happen. The intermediate shaft wouldn’t separate and I wasn’t about to try to pull the header.

So I didn’t take a full L I installed the URD Y pipe I got months ago from @Hawk373 It’s a much nicer setup than the chopped up OEM one it replaced.

If anyone got their cats stolen or needs a reroute the OEM one is in good shape and needs a new home.

I think pulling the header is the way to do it. I had 3/4 bolts removed from mine (or the total minus one) and I wasnt able to remove it all the way without taking header off, unfortunately

If I’m being 100% honest I liked the GFC but I wasn’t satisfied with the build quality of it. For what you pay I feel like there are far better wedge options

Traded for an RSI smartcap and a roofnest falcon pro. Will allow me to get the truck in the garage. I’m gonna hide the tent at work so I can easily take it on and off before trips
They are still the cheapest option by several thousand. You have to understand what it is, it’s not a slide in camper, it’s a utilitarian tent connected to a shell. It was great in CA where trips were easy and weekend outings were common between work trips. In NJ I drive my truck to the office 5 times a week and can squeeze in 3-4 camping trips a year so 2 pieces makes more sense.

I can agree with a two piece set up, that’s why I sold my GFC. I’m not bashing go fast what so ever they make a good product I just noticed other wedges that have some features the GO Fast could have had as well.

have you seen the hard side wedge from RedTail overland?? I mean that’s glamping but damn that is sick lol  probably has a sick price tag too!

    Time for a thread resurrection.

Not much has changed in two years, it’s just been a commuter but I’m heading back to San Diego in January so time to start getting things ready.

Ordered Fox PES from @AccuTune Offroad and got tracking today, this will replace a rusty set that desperately needs an overhaul.

Ordered some 5125s to hold it down while I send the rears in for rebuild.

I need to figure out a new head unit, the current one randomly restarts and won’t auto connect to CarPlay because of a firmware issue that Pioneer won’t fix.

With the fronts, I’ll also change out the tie rods and CVs, then an alignment and I’ll get some new tires to replace the current burned up set.

The goal is an adventure ready rig so my cross country move doubles as a wheeling trip. Winter will limit my options but the goal is to visit some new spots I haven’t explored yet.

Ready to swap the new ones in on Saturday
    IMG_5621.jpg IMG_5622.jpg

Everything is rusty and the CVs need new boots, there will be more rehab work IMG_5623.jpg IMG_5624.jpg

These reservoir brackets for the PES are doodoo, I spent as much time trying to get them right as all the rest IMG_5625.jpg
I got skunked on day 1 by a lower shock bolt that was seized to the bushing, sprayed lots of penetrant and booked the lift at work today. Once it was in the air and the penetrant had two days to creep it only took one swing of the hammer and brought it back home to finish in the driveway
    IMG_5635.jpg IMG_5636.jpg

Crusty fronts ready for love IMG_5637.jpg

Rears came back from Accutune yesterday so that will be next weekends project. And the fronts will get sent out for rebuild.

Also, did you know @AShive92 can rebuild suspension? He's just down the road from you in PA

They are 5125 series p/n 33-185576, 14" travel. Great option for those with a relocate just for looks, rode well on the pavement and were only $161 for one new one used from Amazon.

@AShive92 are you up to date on your tetanus shot? wanna take a crack at these? These need be rebuilt to sell, so saving shipping would be nice.

Also picked up a set of URD equal length headers, so I will be glad to have TX tags as the BRWNTRD will soon have no cats and will def not be CARB approved.
