Is replacing blend door actuator an easy fix? Isn’t it on passenger side up under dash? Hate to ask such basic questions but I’m 86 years old and don’t get around like I used to. Trying to determine if I can do this job or hire mechanic. Thanks to all
My Tacoma is 2000, not 2004

It's not too difficult if you are willing and able to get down with your shoulder on the floorboard and look up underneath the dash near the center console and remove it with a short stubby screwdriver. I removed it once, took it apart and inspected the plastic gears and it worked for a few more years. Eventually my mechanic replaced it when I had the ac repaired and the actuator was acting up again.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I did it. You can do it.

I ordered GM part 25770692 and used the little motor inside to replace the one in my Tacoma's actuator.

A bit more work opening up the old actuator and putting the new motor in there but the GM part is a lot cheaper than the Toyota one.

Thank you gentlemen for the advice, and tips.i must be living right cause on the way to church Sunday, my heater suddenly began blowing hot air! I think the actuator might have been stuck and suddenly started working. It still is good. Again, my thanks to you all. This is a great forum!

Glad to hear it’s working again! I cake here to find the answer to this too, my blend door actuator is done. It started to fritz a few years ago and I fixed it ut now it’s done done. Is it stupid to buy an aftermarket one and replace it? They’re so expensive OEM.

I just hope my good fortune is not just a temporary thing. But, my taco has 374k miles so, if it is oem, I can’t complain.
    Good luck on your issue.

I have 311k on mine and assuming the actuator was OEM. Oh well, I am lucky I live in California, not too big of a deal to go without heat for awhile. Hope the good fortune lasts man!
