Finally did the mod. Got the harness and larger flasher from Toyota through my son. Since he works at Hyundai/Toyota. Super easy to do. Installed led lights with built in resistors at the same time. They flash normally and work exactly like DRL lights should work. Thanks !

I see that this is an OLD thread... Maybe I should've started a new one but here goes...

I want to replace my OEM Flasher Relay with an LED Flasher Relay (CF18, LM449, 8-pin) that I got on eBay, just to fix the hyper-flashing.
My Taco is a 2010 with factory DRL's and I want to keep them, so I'm assuming that all I need to do is replace the flasher...
and the jumper that was referred to in this thread would not be required.
    Is my assumption correct?

    Can anybody verify this???

Diode Dynamic has a flasher but it doesn't work with DRL
I have no faith in an unknown fleabay doodad if DD can't make it work

Again, just live with the hyperflashing. It’s not that bad plus have peace of mind that you aren’t melting your headlight housing from the inside with incandescent. The LEDs look crazy good IMO.

I did this mod, took about an hour total. This fixed the hyper flash on my 2010 when I installed my led switch backs. No issues going on 5+ years now.
Go easy with the dremel/file and plug in often to check, at a certain try it will just flash normal.

Does anyone know if this process works for an aftermarket headlight unit? It comes with drl but it only works if the truck has the factory drl.

    I have an 08 Tacoma
