Easy swap brake kit?

Time for new pads and rotors. Are the Power Stop kits on Amazon a good OE+ kit to get? I just want an easy swap with good parts. Don’t need high performance upgrades or anything special.

I used them on a Jeep one time, I probably wouldn’t buy them again.

 

I just installed NAPA Adaptive One Pads and Rotors. They claim limited lifetime warranty. My neighbor put these on his Ford truck a few years back and has been happy. They seem to stop real well, won’t know for sure for a few years of use. Priced much higher than those noted above.

 

The NAPA rotors warped at 25K miles on my previous 3rd gen Sport. Threw the NAPA rotors in the trash and installed OEM pads and rotors. No issues

 

i've installed a couple(3) of powerstop packages and had an issue each time. 3 different vehicles, 2 different drivers, followed break in instructions exactly. got 15k miles out of the set on a trailblazer, and like 22k on a silverado and had also put them on a mustang and they squealed.

bought them all within a few months of each other so didn't realize they sucked until later.

I do like the oreillys ceramic best or whatever that is they have thats supposed to be the step up from OE. Zero issues in 80k miles on my 2500hd.

I used the Power Stop Evolution rotors and pads and rotors on a Subaru Outback. About $360 for the complete set.
No problems with that set and when needed I will purchase Power Stop for my Tacoma.
Very smooth stopping and so far no pulsating or warped discs.
Ordered on October 14, 2022, the rotors and pads still look good and work good.

 

I don't recommend their brake hardware kit for the rear brakes.
Other than that, they seem to be a good product.

When I say hardware, I mean the spring kit for the rear drums.

I always go with Bosch. Never had a problem and they’re relatively cheap (Amazon) for a good product. Brakes aren’t really something to skimp on. Safety third or whatever

 

I have 57k miles on my stock front rotors/ pads. With a good bit of pad left. Rotor thickness is well in spec. When the time comes i will use toyota parts. I would shy away from cheap chinese Amazon junk. Not that the oem parts arent chinese, im sure they may be.

 

Funny, mine did too but on ,my 3rd Gen 4Runner. Just picked up my OEM brakes ad going on today.

Install was easy IMO and they work well for me. No problems so far. Only had them on for about 5 months though.

I put Powerstop ceramic pads with their coated rotors on the rear of my wife's Civic and the front of my Accord. Both do about 100 miles a day for our respective commutes. No complaints with hers after 15 months or mine after maybe 3 months.
