Bought a set of OEM SR rear bumper caps to replace painted bumper caps on my solar octane …

Post is intended for those with similar interest in black over painted. Attached photos for reference.

I think I like it! Looks similar to a high-clearance aftermarket bumper but at a fraction of the price (right?). How much were the SR parts?

Exactly my thought process. After a couple of discounts they were running on parts at the time I paid $225 for the OEM replacements. Aftermarket “bumpershellz” on my third gen ran $125(ish) so it ended up being a $100 premium for a factory part replacement. Worth it to me …. I don’t need a high clearance bumper yet love the look.

How hard is the swap? Just a couple screws or something?

Off by a few bucks in my quote above. Here is screenshot of part numbers. Note, i DO NOT have the round backup sensors. If you do, it would be a different part number that includes the round holes for the sensors. Swap took about 30 minutes total. There are 4 or so plastic “push-pins” and 4 or so clips. Patience and they will all release without snapping anything.
