First time posting here. I know there may already be a ton of information on this topic, but after days of reading it is becoming overwhelming.

I have a 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport PreRunner.

I’m in need of new suspension, I currently have ProComp 3” in the front 2” in the rear. I have been looking at getting OME 887 with Bilstein 5100 in the front, but when it comes to choosing the rear I’m a bit stuck. The website I’m looking at the kit on gives an option for the rear shock 5100 (0-1.75), or 5125 (2-4). Currently the rear of my truck has a block adding the 2” to level it out. I have been told to go with the 5125 and remove the rear block because that will now be providing the 2” to level the truck.
My question, is it safe to go with the 5125 in the rear and remove the block or will that give my truck more rake. Another thing I’m concerned about is I have seen some talk about the 5125 bottoming out during travel in the rear. If I go with the 5100 in the rear would I leave the block in the rear or remove it as well.

With rear shocks longer just means more down travel, you can run factory shocks with 2" blocks, you just max out in down travel.

Rear shocks do not provide lift, they accommodate it.

The block or rear leaf springs provide rear lift.

I would suggest replacing the rear pack with a lift pack and sticking with simple 5100s which work fine with 1-2" lift.

Your current leaf springs are likely inverted and should be replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will look into a new pack or AAL to get rid of the block and replace any worn springs. I had a shakedown performed a couple days ago and was told I needed UCA, LCA, front struts, inner tie rods, and rear shocks but they did not mention the leaf springs. Could I get away with just doing the icon progressive AAL 1.5”?
