Does anyone have any experience doing a 200hr service on a 2019 or recent rock shox family of forks? I’m worried about what vice insert to buy. Park tools has one for $49, AV5, that I’m not sure will work. Sram’s model is $113.

I have like a 2010 Trek Fuel EX7.. upgraded Shimano SLX brakes, crank 50/50 pedals, etc. 26inch tubeless tires.

Any of you guys have an idea of what it might be worth. Going to sell this old girl. Few hundo, maybe.

If you don’t need to sell it and have people you’d like to take with you riding it may be worth keeping. Otherwise use Pinkbike to find similar examples and then subtract 10-20% from that to actually sell the thing. The problem is MTB is a trendy hobby in many circles and old bikes just aren’t trendy even if capable.

Also, I’ve been filling my need to buy MTB parts with things I need for around the house and work. TOOLS

These holiday sales had me buy an M18 leaf blower, router, table saw, circular saw, and 2 pairs of forge 8.0 and 12.0 batteries.
    :spending:

At least I can count the tools on taxes. Maybe I should start doing some type of land management that doesn’t require a specific degree on the side and see about writing bikes off on taxes for quicker viewing of properties. No different than guys counting SxS off on taxes lol. “Business expense”

Thx for the reply. The oldest EX7 on that site was a 2016 haha. The bike is mechanically sound, just older and doesn't get used. Trying to make room in the garage.

Anyone have any interest in a basically brand new Fezzari Delano Peak? I bought it as a lower travel bike to replace the Stumpjumper Evo, but I can't bring myself to dump the Stumpy (I did this after I broke my arm on the Stumpy, so a little bit of impulse going on there also). It's the comp build with some nice upgrades:
Ride Wrapped before it was ridden, SlikGraphic black out decals for the DVO shock and fork, Specialized bottle cage with multi-tool, PNW dropper level, Ibis Send 2 wheels, Shimano XT brakes. Tires and drivetrain have 0 miles on them. Frame has 15 miles on it, but that was with the Stumpjumper's drivetrain and wheelset.
Size M, perfect condition. Located just SW of Boston, MA. Let me know if you're interested or know someone who may want this bike.

    Yeah.
Unfortunately it's just old and has 26" wheels. May be a great bike for a kid if it's a smaller size. I'd guess you could get $200 - $300.

I still have my wife's '92 Trek 930 hanging in the garage. She never really got into it, probably less than 5 miles on it. I can't bring myself to sell it for cheap.

Do you have kids? Hang on to these bikes, at least the 930. Our kids, both in their 30’s now, ride our old 1980’s bikes as town bikes. Our son has my Bridgestone MB1 and our daughter rides my wife’s 1982-ish Miyata road bike. The Miyata has a CroMo frame but 27” not 700C wheels. Tires in that size are a little harder to find. They keep ‘em in great condition and ride them regularly though both have more modern bikes, Salsa and Surly respectively.

Who’s put a dropper post on a 2022 model or newer Trek Marlin 7 gen 2?

I’m looking into Black Friday deals and it looks like I’ll need one that is 36.1mm / 150mm (my frame size is M/L).

    Any advice/thoughts would be welcomed!

(Yes, I know I’ll need to route the cable up the back of the seat tube on the outside with some zip ties)

    not enough.
I'm sure you did this but double check Trek's bike archive for the seatpost diameter. sounds like you transposed some numbers. should be 31.6 or 30.9. also, double check to make sure you have the clearance for the 150mm. for instance, some bike frames come with a boss for the front derailleur so there might be something in the middle of the seat tube you just can't get around. pull your old seatpost out and look down it. and then stick a tape measure down to make sure it'll all clear.

you could get one of those adhesive backed zip tie mounts if you didn't mind putting something sticky on your frame. Just so you don't have a zip tie dangling around and possibly chewing into your frame.

other than that, no other advice than to get a modern seatpost you like. :D of course, sounds like you need externally routed. PNW components makes one that I hear is pretty good.

I put an externally routed PNW dropper on my 2016ish Diamondback. I took measurements on my old post as far as height i want and max insertion, but also took my post to a local shop to make sure the diameter was the same.

Pic of the bike I keep putting money into but don't even ride. I think only the frame and seat clamp are original now lol. (also the bike I did 95% of the colorado trail (only 2 segments left) on before I had any knowledge of biking)

I made a post on MTBR, don't buy one up till they quit forcing vendors to match their pricing.
Vendors are trying to price products to move, OneUp is pricing to take the least amount of hit.
WWC had the V3 on sale for $140 shipped, at the 20% discount there's still plenty of room for more discounts. You could also get front and rear hub with free hub for about $180-200.

We Are One is having a big 35% off sale right now. I was so close to getting a wheelset I don't "need"....

But I ended up getting another wheelset I don't "need" from Inside Line. Their prices are actually better than direct from We Are One.
Convergence Triad w/ P321 hubs for $950 shipped.
If you're looking, they have a great selection of We Are One wheelsets for damn good prices right now.
    Thanks @whitedlite !
