I bought an $89 Walmart Enermaxx battery to get my dead truck outta their parking lot, to drive to another Walmart to get their best 24F Enermaxx. The cheaper Enermaxx is being store where there isn’t any power to keep it trickled charged. It’s got about 10 miles on it. Should my present battery completely fail, can I put in the stored one, jump it and drive on the freeway for an hour to charge it? If so, for how many years stored will it still be chargeable. Will it have degraded?

Hello, when I used to install batteries for AAA we would keep batteries in storage for no more than 4 months. After the 4 months we would send them back to be recharged. I don't know how many years the battery would last, but I would reinstall it at least every 4 months to recharge it.

Temperature extremes and vibration is the worst thing for a wet battery. An $89 battery wont last too long as there arent enough of the components inside that battery that make a battery a battery. I got 7 almost 8 years out of the Interstate on my 98 Prerunner.

Maybe install it as a dual battery?

Sell it. IMO storing it is not worth the hassle.

Can't you just return it to Walmart?
