I’ve toying with the idea of ditching rear fill altogether as it seems to just make everything sound worse. That would also allow me to double the power I’m sending to the front speakers. I’m concerned about pushing 150w rms through the stock wiring. I don’t have it in me to rewire the truck. Especially since it’s a jbl, so if I was going to run new speaker wire, I would probably just ditch the stock hu/amp nightmare and start from scratch. Anyone run that much power through factory wiring? Is it a terrible idea?

yeah 75w is about it. 100w for short periods.
the big question is, what are you installing that needs 150w rms, and do you think your ears can handle that.

most speakers are rated for quite a lot of power. but if you try to push them to their limits, you'll almost certainly leave with hearing damage.
for example, I'm running a basic setup. kicker KS 6x9 components up front (silk dome tweeter) and matching KS 6.5" coax in the rear doors. KX amp pushing 50w rms per channel. all gains are set so 75% volume doesn't exceed 50w.
with my volume at 75%, it physically hurts my ears, almost instantly. a few minutes of that and I have a headache. and that's with the silk tweeters. any type of harsher material makes it exponentially worse.

tl;dr, consider what you actually will use, and don't just focus on the numbers

I was looking to do a big sq upgrade. Really nice components, DSP, install tweeters in pillars. Was looking at hertz mlk 165.3 components. RMS on those is 150 max and I was afraid to invest in such an incredible speaker and under power them.

If you’re dropping $800 on front channels, you’re going to want to run new speaker wire.

yeaaa…the truth hurts to hear sometimes. Oh well, looks like I’ll stick with the C3’s for a while longer. Relocating tweeters to aim at the ear and going active should at least allow me to squeeze all the performance I can out of them anyway. It doesn’t sound bad, it’s just that I go home and listen to relatively inexpensive bookshelf’s (Klipsch sevens) and I’m blown away at how great it sounds in comparison to my drive home. Hopefully moving the tweets and time alignment etc can level up their game.

I definitely understand your feelings there. A big thing to factor is that a truck is just a bad place for listening. Road noise, wind noise, sitting on the far left of the sounds range, seats in the way, a roof, glass, etc. sound just struggles. Our homes are a much better environment so even cheap speakers on a cheap amp just simply have a better playing field. Add in the tweeter and woofer being paired together in a set of bookshelves vs the tweeter in the truck being at head level and the mid being down at your feet. I bet if I put my home speakers under the bed, they wouldn’t sound as good.
I try to put myself in a different listening mood in the truck vs at home. The truck is either podcasts or a party. Loud and fun.

Love knuconceptz. That’s what I used to install my amps and subs. I think I have a couple of their rca’s somewhere in the mix as well. Anyway, if the day does come where I decide to gut factory and run bigger stuff it’ll be their wire. I’ve always ordered straight from their website. Great products, good prices, quick shipping. Couldn’t ask for more

Yep. I keep going back to them simply because they're one of the few wire suppliers that don't cheap out on the wire.
