Morning Stockers
No snow yet (4AMish) ... I think the Fickle Witch and her "La Nina" cousin are f'n with us. Gonna take another nap.

 

Replaced the battery (watched the guy at Advance Auto) in the Tacoma yesterday. Nearly five years to the day since last time. It lives outside, lots of short trips, lots of sitting for a week or two at a time.

 

Working the list...

Lawn - Check
Plow Stakes - Check
Mower Serviced and put away - Check

Found the appropriate pin/clip assembly at my dealership. Under a mile away. More on that in a bit.

 

So the body shop didn't even use the right push pin assembly to attach the plastic wheel well liner to the fender fare assembly. They reused only the pin part.

This is what was floating loosely on the hole.



There was an obvious flat indent that indicated some other part went there. Confirmed by looking at the driver's side. Ran to my local dealership and they had it in stock. $13. Now I need to figure out how to get this in place with all the other fasteners in place. Seems like it needs to slide between the fender and the liner.

Years ago on my Audi forum somebody had a picture of something next to to their wristwatch with "watch for scale"
Well, "watch for scale" became a running joke that reached its apex when one of the guys bought a new house and posted a picture with his watch on the front steps with "watch for scale"

 

Snow happening ... not gonna amount to much up here. But maybe put some moisture down ... 'til the wind shows up. Imma go on record early ... my gut says this La Nina is a biotch.

 

So would a decent shop not have a supply of them on hand? Just curious...

Don’t make the mistake I did & buy an Amazon package of assorted ones. Quality wasn’t worth the effort. Coincidently that week I met a dedicated trim guy who fixed me up.

The real heartbreaker was using a portable tank only to stand there filling the last tire with like 5lbs of differential between the two.

I just have a long hose for mine.

 

I got one but had to return it…wouldn’t work for me at all.
