Viair 88p

I want one, don't air down often, but few times a year and want air comp for patching tires

Question, instead of base model $79 should I grab their automatic shutoff or electric managed version for $100ish??

Or jist the base and bust out my 50psi needle valve lol, like I've done at home w my craftsman pancake for years

Any air compressor needing direct battery connections is what you you want for a truck. That being said ...

Your choice. Double check with another gauge makes sense. My 88p works fine to air up, just takes a little longer than one with more air-flow. You also get more time between cooling down with larger models (the "cycle"), but my 88p seems to get enough rest moving between tires. This "cycle" will matter more when you have larger than 33 in tires because of the air you must move, so bigger (300p) might be seen as an "investment".

Airing up will always be an annoyance. Decide if a little less time per tire or "investment for the future" is worth the extra $$.

Also keep spares of the fuse in the power cord. Standard automotive fuses. These compressors occasionally over-draw when in use and "I could have, I should have" is no consolation.

 

Thank you, great info. Got me leaning the standard one. I could get a high model like you said but here's a Kicker, I want this st0red in a underneath box, behind seat, of bed cubby, so the size of 88p I'm drawn to. It must conceal in an oem cubby box

I wonder if 300 model dims are the same
