    Howdy y'all,

The USB port on my head unit down by the cigarette lighter (2021 Tacoma SR) stopped working a few days ago. If it was just a normal USB port I wouldn't care that much but that's the one that Android Auto/Apple Car Play works though which I use all the time. Is replacing that a fairly easy DIY kind of job for someone with basic electrical knowledge or should I take it to the professionals?

It pops out with one of those plastic pry tools and unplugs. Five minute job.

    Part number is
    86190-0R010

Does the USB still charge your phone and just not connect to the head unit or is it completely dead?

Have you checked the USB fuse? Here's it's location in my '19, I don't know if yours is the same.

It's completely dead, doesn't charge my phone either. I already ordered the replacement USB port that JTScribe52 linked in his reply so if swapping that out doesn't fix the problem I'll change out that fuse and let y'all know what ended up fixing it.

Ummm, you have a 2021 right? Do you have an aux plug as well as the USB? If not the one in that link may not fit.

I have found the connection to my iPhone via usb to be highly unreliable. The usb port might not be your problem. Let us know how you fair.

Alright y'all, I popped the USB port out and unplugged it from the trucks wiring and then just plugged it back and now it seems to be working again, at least for the moment being. The old turn it off and back on again for the win.

I'm curious if this is still working for you? Mine is acting very strange when I plug it into my phone my phone starts charging and 5 seconds later the USB port is dead.

    This is mine.

Can anyone provide any experience with this?

I use an Android phone and my phone will start to charge immediately upon plugging it in but it will stop after a couple seconds.

I honestly don't recall if it was working like this previously and I didn't notice it, or if something has changed?

Do you happen to have the part # for a 2021 TRD Pro? I cannot seem to find it outside of a kit. I have changed cords, devices and fuse, USB is dead.

    Update - anyone looking...part # is 86190 35020
