Looking to replace my stock 2020 trd sport tires with all terrain tires. Can someone tell me if 'Cooper Discoverer All-Terrain LT265/70R17 123S' are garbage? From my understanding I can get away with a 70R17 without rubbing but correct me if I am wrong. I don't off road but I do live in the north east and we used to get snow when I was a kid. Also, how much can I expect my MPG to drop switching to an AT tire?

    Thanks!

With stock wheels, you can size up to the 265/70R17s with no issue. Some run into problems when they get different wheels with varying offsets. Your mileage may vary but these aren’t MPG friendly to begin with. Larger / more aggressive tires = heavier. The rotational mass = lower mpgs. I may not have the exact wording right but the concept is there… I lost maybe 1-2 mpg but my acceleration took the largest hit. Takes time to go from a stop sign or red light. Noticeable difference from stock tires. Can’t speak for the specific tire choice you mentioned though. Haven’t ran them.

The Cooper Discoverer All-Terrains are a Walmart exclusive version (Different Pattern) of the AT3 XLT. The AT3 XLT is a highly rated tire and these are probably cheaper that the AT3 XLT's too. Looks like Walmart has a black Friday deal on them too.

I had the AT3 4S and loved them. Obviously not the same tire, but commenting to make you aware of their fast wearing tendencies. I drive very mild and I don’t off-road much. Still only got just over 30k out of them. Switched over to Yokohama Geolandars. Good luck!

Man that suck that you only got 30K out of them. I have the Cooper ATP II in LT285/75R16 on and have just over 40K so far. It looks like I can get about 20K more before needing to replace.

Thanks gentlemen. 30k wear doesn't seem like much, maybe I am better off going with another another tire.
